“The accessibility of technology in sports has always been a challenge I’ve gravitated towards solving. A vast majority of young athletes don’t have access to 24/7 trainers or state-of-the-art facilities that provide a competitive edge during their developmental stages. This is where I see Uplift having an immense impact. It redefines what it means to have a virtual trainer by providing tools and guidance to athletes that are otherwise inaccessible. Having worked closely with Uplift Labs for many years now, I believe this technology will become integral to youth athletes, teams and leagues globally.”

FAQs

What setup do I need to perform an assessment with Uplift?

Uplift only requires an iPhone or iPad mounted on a tripod (and enough space to capture an athlete’s full movement via video). On iPhones, you can perform a self-assessment using the front-facing camera, or run an assisted assessment using the back camera. On iPads, only assisted assessments (using the back camera) are supported. While you can perform hand-held assessments, this may impact the accuracy of your results.

The Uplift app also supports using a compatible bluetooth remote to start and stop video recording.

What assessments are available?

Uplift currently includes a jump assessment that uses two varieties of countermovement jump (arm swing and hands-on-hips) to evaluate an athlete’s lower body power generation and explosiveness. This assessment is a useful test for establishing a baseline of athleticism, and can be used to improve jumping, sprinting, change of direction, and any other athletic skill that requires power and explosiveness.

Uplift is continuously expanding the movements that can be assessed, and the performance measures it helps athletes improve, so keep checking in on new developments!

How quickly do I get results?

Uplift’s AI-powered algorithms analyze every movement in full 3D to create a personal movement snapshot for each athlete. From this snapshot, useful insights like Jump Height, Reactive Strength Index, and Takeoff Velocity are available seconds after finishing an assessment.

Can I compare my jump results with others?

Yes. Uplift includes the ability to create private groups and invite your friends, teammates, or the athletes you coach. Group weekly, monthly, and yearly leaderboards enable reporting and competition of jump heights. There are also public Uplift groups that anyone can join to see how they stack up against people like them.

I’m part of an organization. How can I use Uplift with my athletes/clients?
